IIFA to mark its 25 years with first-ever digital awards

I am going to turn 24 next month and honestly, all I can think about is how to get past the next one year and one month to reach the age 25. Why? Because with 25 comes a sense of achievement, and credibility that does not with any other number preceding it. Your life starts to mean something because you have gone through the highs and lows that led you here, and a silver jubilee stands as a testament to how you stood the test of time. Now, obviously, this article is not about my birthday and age. It is, however, about something that has been one of my core memories growing up, and I am sure it is true for many of you reading this. Sitting with your family enjoying the IIFA, eyes glued to the TV watching celebrities dance, sing, crack jokes, and create controversies is a family moment I did not think I would carry this far with me.

While there still is some time for me to reach the credible age of 25, the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) has beaten me to it as it is all set to mark its 25 years in Jaipur. What’s more exciting is that keeping up with the trends, IIFA is hosting its first-ever digital awards this time round. Hosted by Aparshakti Khurana, Vijay Verma, and Abhishek Banerjee, the IIFA digital awards was a much need celebration of brilliant artists who have entertained us at the comfort of our sofa and TV.

Now, given the loyal viewers of IIFA, it has kept up with its OG genre of big screen awards that will be hosted by Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan. It has one of the best line-ups you would have seen till date, that for starters, include Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Meanwhile, Nora Fatehi, Shreya Ghosal, Sachin Jigar will woo the audience with their electrifying performances at the digital awards.

Now, when Indian celebrities are all set to bedazzle at the 25 years celebration of IIFA, it is a mix of exciting and nostalgic emotion for its viewers. But above all, it feels like a perfect excuse for the family to get together and spend some quality time, for old time’s sake.
