'The Raja Saab': Malavika Mohanan gears up for a grand Telugu debut with Prabhas

After entertaining Tamil and Hindi audiences, Malavika Mohanan is now entering the Telugu cinema trajectory with a bang with The Raja Saab. Malavika stars opposite 'Darling' Prabhas in the much-anticipated horror-comedy entertainer. Helmed by Maruthi, the movie is backed by People Media Factory and is set for a grand pan-India release on December 5, 2025.

Afte earning praises for her performance in movies like Master, Petta and Beyond The Clouds, Malavika pins high hopes to impress Telugu audience with The Raja Saab. In her recent media interviews, Malavika expressed how this role felt “complete and exciting,” adding that her character is central to the story and is layered with multiple emotions.

“I’ve always admired Telugu cinema’s scale and storytelling. The Raja Saab gave me the right script, the right co-star, and a role with real meat,” said Malavika. She also praised Prabhas for being “an absolute delight” and shared how he won over her team with warm hospitality and home-cooked biryani on day one.

The Raja Saab teaser was unveiled amid much fanfare on Monday and received massive attention from the fans and critics. In the movie, Malavika's alluring avatar matching Prabhas’s swag and energy was a visual treat, giving a glimpse into the vibrant world filled with horror, romance and comedy. Fans are showering praise for the teaser and are already calling it “a blockbuster in the making.”

Along with Malavika and Prabhas in pivotal roles, the film also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Anupam Kher in key roles and the music is composed by the S Thaman.
