Produced by Karan Johar, the movie had a limited festival release on Janmashtami (Thursday) with paid previews - a day before than the usual release. Distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, "We Are Family" is a Hindi adaptation of Julia Roberts-Susan Sarandon starrer "Stepmom". It also stars Arjun Rampal and child actors Aanchal Munjal, Nominath Ginsburg and Diya Sonecha.
