<p class="bodytext">MLA Vedavyas Kamath on Friday welcomed Goa government’s decision to lift the ban on transportation and distribution of fish from the coastal districts of Karnataka.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Goa government suspected that the fish from Karnataka was adulterated with formalin and stopped the fish trucks entering into Goa.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In retaliation, Karnataka fishermen prevented Goa trucks entering into the state. Before the issue could sour relationship between the two states, a delegation of fishermen leaders, led by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary held discussions with the Goa government.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Kamath recollected that their talks with Goa speaker Pramod Sawant, Health Minister Vishwajeeth P Rane and Fisheries Minister Vinod Palinarsa resulted in Goa lifting the ban on fish sales from Karnataka. “The fishermen now need not worry about their future,” he added.</p>
