<p>The third phase of Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal on Tuesday was marred with violence including the murder of a Congress worker allegedly by TMC cadres.</p>.<p>The incident took place near a polling booth in the Bhagwangola area of the Murshidabad Lok Sabha constituency. According to the Election Commission (EC), 78.94% votes were polled till 5 pm in the third phase in West Bengal.</p>.<p>The incident which is arguably the first poll-related casualty in West Bengal this time.</p>.<p>A Congress worker Tiyarul Seikh (51) was hacked to death. Two other persons, including a Congress and a TMC worker, were critically injured in the clash.</p>.<p>District police sources revealed that Seikh went to vote at a polling booth in the locality when he was attacked by TMC cadres.</p>.<p>Soon after a clash erupted between the Congress and the TMC workers. Seikh who sustained a severe stab injury in his abdomen was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Four persons have been detained in the case so far.</p>.<p>Tension was brewing in the area earlier in the day with Opposition parties accusing the TMC of resorting to booth capturing and false voting.</p>.<p>"TMC got worried seeing the spontaneous public support for the Congress in Murshidabad and hence they resorted to such heinous attack. One Congress worker has died, " said Abu Heena, Congress candidate from the Murshidabad Lok Sabha seat.</p>.<p>Denying allegation, TMC candidate from Murshidabad Abu Taher Khan said that the case should be thoroughly investigated.</p>.<p>EC has sought a report of the incident.</p>.<p>Three TMC workers were injured in the Domkal area of Murshidabad when miscreants hurled bombs at them.</p>.<p>Apart from Murshidabad, Balurghat, Maldaha Uttar (North), Maldaha Dakshin(South) and Jangipur Lok Sabha constituencies went to polls in the third phase.</p>
