<p>On the back foot over suicide of Gajendra Singh at an AAP rally, the party-led Delhi government today announced that a farmer compensation scheme will be named after the Rajasthan farmer and also accepted the demands of his family-- to give a job to Gajendra's kin and martyr status for him.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The decision came a day after senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh met the family of the farmer in Nangal Jhamarwada village in Rajasthan's Dausa district. Singh met his children, wife, father and other members.<br /><br />According to Singh, Gajendra's family has demanded martyr's status for him and a government job to his kin.<br /><br />As per to a senior officer, a delegation of AAP MLAs Rajesh Rishi, Naresh Balyan and Rajesh Gupta who met the family yesterday with Sanjay Singh today told family's demand to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.<br /><br />Following which, Kejriwal called Gajendra's brother and accepted both the demands made by the family.<br /><br />The Chief Minister promised to provide a job to any child of the family after he or she attains the age of 18.<br /><br />The AAP government also announced to name rain-hit farmer compensation scheme after Gajendra.<br /><br />According to officials, from next week, rain-hit farmers will get compensation which was announced by Kejriwal this month.<br /><br />The AAP leader yesterday handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the farmer's family and also showed them a video clip in support of the party's claim that AAP leaders were not responsible for the incident.</p>
