Chandrababu Naidu cancels public meetings in Maharashtra after his younger brother passes away

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had to cancel his campaign in Maharashtra in support of Maha Yuti candidates as he had to rush to Hyderabad following the passing away of his younger brother, N Rammurthy Naidu.

Naidu had planned to campaign for Maha Yuti candidates in Maharashtra on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday he was to address two public meetings in Thane and Bhiwandi. On Sunday he was scheduled to attend public meetings in Koliwada and Worli in Mumbai.

As per his original schedule, Naidu was to fly from Delhi on Saturday morning and participate in public meetings in Thane and Bhiwandi. But he rushed to Hyderabad.

It is unlikely that he would attend public meetings on Sunday in Maharashtra. Naidu's younger brother, Rammurthy Naidu, 72, has been ill for some time, and he was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad on November 14 following a cardiac arrest and passed away on Saturday afternoon.

According to the health bulletin released by the hospital, Ramamurthy Naidu was suffering from non-communicating normal pressure hydrocephalus (buildup of fluid in the brain) post VP shunt. He was receiving intermittent ventilatory support in the past for respiratory distress. After his admission to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, he was revived with cardiopulmonary resuscitation but was very unstable hemodynamically with low blood pressure and other complications.

He could not improve in spite of all efforts, and the end came at 12:45 PM Saturday, the bulletin said. Rammurthy Naidu was elected as MLA from the Chandragiri assembly segment in the 1994 elections. Later, he was not active in politics.
