Bihar: Youth gunned down in Begusarai, one injured

Begusarai: A 25-year-old youth was shot dead and another injured by unidentified miscreants in Bihar’s Begusarai district on Monday morning, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar, while the injured is Prince Kumar (24).

A statement by the district police said, "The incident took place in ward No. 24 in Lohiya Nagar area when the duo was shot at by unidentified persons."

According to eyewitnesses, the accused fled after the incident.

Police immediately reached the spot and took the victims to the nearest hospital.

While Amit Kumar succumbed to injuries, Prince Kumar is undergoing treatment and his condition is stable, police added.

A case has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, the statement said.

This comes a day after two persons, a lawyer and a teacher, were shot dead in separate incidents in Patna and Saran districts.
