"We will be taking out the Sankalp rally in all seven districts of Rajasthan. The Sankalp rally will be held over six weeks which will have one mega rally every week, where Congress leaders including AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot, party in-charge Avinash Pandey and Congress leader C P Joshi will be present. We will be taking out the first rally on August 23 in Chittorgarh district in Udaipur division", Pilot told DH.
Incidentally, Raje's Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra was also kicked off from Udaipur division. However, the ruling BJP is taking out the yatra to retain voters, while the Opposition Congress is taking out its rally to wrest power. The move also comes a few days after Congress president Rahul Gandhi visited Jaipur to roll out a poll strategy for the Congress in Rajasthan.
Answering a question in connection with the 42,000 fake voters in Rajasthan as claimed by the Congress, Pilot said, "Those living illegally have no right to vote including Bangladeshis and Nepalis. When Manmohan Singh was prime minister around 10 times more Nepalese were asked to exit from India as compared to the number claimed to have left from India under Modi's rule".
As per Congress' analysis, the electoral list furnished by the Election Commission of India shows as many as 42.08 lakh probable duplicate voters are with the same name, relative name and gender.
He demanded that the EC should direct the chief electoral officer and the block level officials to conduct physical verification in light of the inconsistencies brought out in the list.
