Farmers' protest highlights: MoS Agriculture reiterates govt's stand on Farm Law amendments
The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to Centre and States on a batch of pleas seeking a direction to the authorities to immediately remove the farmers who are protesting at several border points of Delhi against three new farm laws. A Bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde and Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian has also granted permission to implead farmer organisations. Farmers' agitation enters its third week as the Centre agreed to more rounds of talks but remained firm on not adhering to farmers' demand, a complete repeal of the new farm laws. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the farm acts have been welcomed in states across the country and the Centre is ready to talk with genuine farmers' unions.
