<p>Ahmedabad: Hours after debris of a drone, suspected to have come from Pakistan, was found about 60 km from Bhuj city and close to the India-Pakistan border in Kutch district, Bhuj city went under complete blackout on Thursday late in the evening. </p><p>Many people reported to have seen lights streaking in the sky. Similar blackouts were reported from Naliya, Nakhatrana and Khavda. There was no official confirmation about any untoward incident till late in the night. </p><p>Earlier, the villagers of Dhrobana woke up on Thursday morning hearing an explosion close to their border village in Bhuj taluka of Kutch district, which is barely 20 km from the India-Pakistan international border. Immediately, a probe was launched by local as well as Air Force and BSF personnel. It is yet not known if the drone came from Pakistan. </p><p>Later in the evening, the union government stated that India had foiled Pakistan's attempt to attack Gujarat's Bhuj along with other border villagers across western borders in various states on 7th and 8th night.</p><p>Dhrobana is close to Khavda in Bhuj taluka of Kutch district, located close to the international border. As the tension between India and Pakistan rises, the border villages across Kutch and north Gujarat's Banaskantha district have been put on high alert.</p><p>"The object was found near Dhrobana in Kotda which has been handed over to the Indian Air Force for investigation. The place of the incident is barely 20 km from the international border," Kutch West Superintendent of Police Vikas Sumba told DH. The incident was reported at around 6 AM in Dhrobana village.</p><p>In the press briefing on "Operation Sindoor", the union government mentioned that Pakistan attempted to target many border towns including Bhuj using drones and missiles.</p>.8 Pakistani missiles intercepted amid drone attacks, blackout in Jammu, other strategic areas.<p>"On the night of 07-08 May 2025, Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets in Northern and Western India including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, using drones and missiles," the statement read.</p><p>It added that such attempts were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. The debris of these attacks is now being recovered from a number of locations that prove the Pakistani attacks.</p><p>Meanwhile, the district administration has put border villagers on high alert and advised fishermen in coastal towns such as Jhakau not to venture in the sea for fishing until further orders.</p><p>Kutch has seen wars in the past including one in 1965 when India and Pakistan clashed in the Rann of Kutch.</p>
