<p>Justice J N Singh of the court stayed appointment of the constables after hearing a batch of writ petitions filed by several applicants charging irregularities in the process of recruitment.<br /><br />The names were declared yesterday and the selected candidates for the post of constables were to join on January 15 next year.<br /><br />The court asked the state government to file an affidavit in the case within two weeks.</p>
