<p>New Delhi: I.N.D.I.A. bloc parties on Monday explored ways to get Parliament functioning without diluting their protest on issues like Adani, Manipur and violence in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal, as some voices emerged in the group that continuing disruption may not go in its favour.</p><p>Following this, Congress Lok Sabha Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi and senior MP and Public Accounts Committee Chairman K C Venugopal met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to follow up on the demand for a two-day discussion on the Constitution, which could help in breaking the stalemate in Parliament.</p>.Opposition wants discussion but govt running away from it: Congress amid Parliament deadlock.<p>The view within the Opposition was that the government does not want a discussion on the issues being raised by them and would be reluctant to allow a debate on the Constitution. Opposition sources said the presiding officers in both the Houses were not allowing them to speak and adjourned the House after criticising them for the protests.</p><p>At the I.N.D.I.A. meeting, sources said some parties, especially CPI(M) and CPI, were of the view that disruption for a longer period was not feasible as it was like "falling into the trap set by the government, which does not want a debate". A section in the Congress is also against disruption.</p><p>Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, who chaired the meeting in the absence of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, indicated at the meeting that they cannot just drop the Adani issue, as it "concerns people".</p><p>He also asked how the BJP and the media would have behaved if the I.N.D.I.A. bloc was in power and suggested against letting off the steam of the protests, sources said.</p>.'Every attack makes us stronger': Gautam Adani on US indictment.<p>Left leaders, sources said, suggested the bloc cannot drop any issue but at the same time, they could look at various protest modes, including a march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan or a dharna in Parliament House or attending proceedings wearing black. </p><p>Leaders pointed out to the quick adjournments in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha without allowing the Opposition to register their protests. A senior Opposition leader said so far, only the presiding officers’ remarks have got into records while MPs have not managed to do so.</p><p>Trinamool Congress has not been attending the I.N.D.I.A. bloc meetings and have not identified Adani as a “key” issue, in variance with other partners. A few Congress MPs have also expressed reservations about raising the Adani issue.</p>
