<p>Trouble seems to be brewing for the UPA government, as the AIADMK in a State Executive meeting here, has vowed to oppose the Centre’s alleged “anti-state legislation” which are likely to come up in Parliament in the days to come.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The party led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha is planning to target the latest move of the government to roll out the Constitutional Amendment Bill on Goods and Services Tax (GST) amidt many other legislation.<br /><br />Citing several Central legislative moves on the cards, including the GST Bill (which Tamil Nadu fears will entail heavy losses for the state until a full compensation package is inked), amendment to the Railway Protection Force Act and setting up a National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), a key resolution adopted at the Executive strongly urged the Centre “to necessarily desist from” steamrolling any of these Bills in Parliament in a hurry. Such moves will only undermine the “federal character” of the Indian polity, the party warned. <br />The party passed 16 resolutions, including some political resolutions.</p>
