11 killed in accidents

Police said five people died on the spot when a lorry dashed against a van on the outskirts of Gauribidanur. Mohan Kumar (28), Melkote Balaji (27), Kodigehalli Nataraj (25), Heggenahalli Gowda (27) and Ashwath Reddy (22) of Hesaraghatta Purawara were victims. 
They were on their way to work in Doddaballapur after staying overnight at a friend’s place in Gauribidanur, the police said.

According to a Koppal report, five members of a family and the driver of a car were killed when their vehicle collided with a lorry near Halageri in Kudligi.

Akbar Bhasha, a lecturer at a first grade college, his brother and teacher Mehaboob Basha, their sister Imambi, mother Fatimabi, Mehamooda Begum and driver Shyam were the victims. The accident occurred when the family was returning home after getting their mother treated at Soratur near Gadag.
