<p>A stray leopard was run over by an unidentified vehicle on Mysuru-Bengaluru highway, near T M Hosur Gate, under K Shettyhalli Reserve Forest, in the taluk, on Friday night. The body of a female leopard was found on the highway during early hours of Saturday. Range Forest Officer Munikrishna said, the animal might have strayed into the area in search of water.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Organ failure<br />According to veterinarian Dr Anand Kumar, who conducted post-mortem on the animal, it has died due to multiple organ failure. He said, the gall bladder and the left leg of the leopard have been severely damaged.<br /><br />The body of the animal was burnt at K Shettyhalli forest. Assistant Conservator of Forests G Y Raju is investigating the case. It may be mentioned that a week ago, a six-year-old male leopard had died about 150 meters away from the spot after it was hit by a vehicle.</p>
