The Syndicate Bank Officers Association will organise the 15th biennial conference on November 24, at Durga International, in Udupi.
Speaking to reporters, Syndicate Bank Officers Association former president Manjunath S Bhagavat said MLA Raghupathy Bhat will be the chief guest and V V Tikkekar, All India General Secretary of National Organisation of Bank Officers (NOBO), will deliver the key-note address on the occasion.
He said that bank employees are facing several problems. The working condition is becoming worse.
He added that the move to shift the Head Office of Syndicate Bank from Manipal to Bengaluru will not fetch business or efficiency. It is a futile exercise. It would be a financial burden to the bank. The bank is already in loss and hence, the association urges to reconsider the move.
"Moreover, if at all the merging of the banks would take place, what is the need for shifting," he questioned.
He added that the conference will pass resolutions on issues like wage revision, reimbursement and calculation of gratuity to the retired employees and unnecessary harassment in the name of recovery and performance.
