<p>Belagavi: Three people, including a one-year-old boy, from the same family, were killed on the spot in a <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/accident">head-on collision</a> between an SUV and a car near Chikkabagewadi village in Bailhongal taluk on Monday. </p><p>The accused car driver is the son of former MLA R V Patil. </p><p>Police said that the car was heading towards Hirebagewadi, while the SUV was going towards Bailhongal. Near Chikkabagewadi, both cars collided head-on, in which three people died on the spot and two others suffered severe injuries. The impact of the collision was such that one of the cars landed in agricultural lands beside the road and was mangled. Injured Ayesha Anwar Sayyad has been admitted to a private hospital in Belagavi for treatment. </p><p>The accused car driver has been identified as Sureshgouda Patil resident of Savadatti.
