<p>A mix of music from different genres, gaming and excitement awaits Bangaloreans at the ninth edition of ‘The Great Indian Octoberfest’ that will be held from October 18 to 20.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The festival, which will be held at Jayamahal Palace, will feature more than 25 artistes, 15 Indian DJs and two international DJs. Taking centre stage this year would be the American rock band ‘Hoobastank’, and Bollywood singers Mika Singh and Arijit Singh.<br /><br />Excited about the upcoming festival, Gurpreet Singh, assistant vice president, marketing, United Breweries Limited, said, “With a finger on the pulse of the current music scene, this festival is one of the most anticipated events in the country. Here, lines between genres are blurred and since the fest involves events for everyone, it’s a hit across age groups.” <br />Raghu Dixit, one of the artistes performing this year, says that he’s looking forward to being a part of the fest for the third time. <br /><br />“For me, this is a special time since we will be singing songs from our upcoming album that will be released in November. The album is an anthology of many of our travels across the globe,” details Raghu.<br /><br />Through video chat, Chris Hesse, drummer of ‘Hoobastank’, expressed that he and the band were looking forward to performing in Bangalore. When asked how their band had stayed on in the music scene while others have fizzled out, he says, “We’re just plain lucky. <br /><br />We’re all very humble people and we like to think that our music is timeless.”<br /><br />Elaborating on the different features of the festival, GV Vilas, managing director, Common Colors Entertainment Pvt Ltd, said, “Apart from the flea market, the games and the food stalls, which offer almost 20 different styles of food, the festival will also see increased security and safety measures. In the ten and half acres of land that we will be using, around 45 cameras will be watching crowd movement and there will be guards and squads around the space.”<br /><br />For the convenience of visitors, there will be Volvo buses arranged from 12 different locations to and from the venue. The fest will also feature bands like ‘All the Fat Children’, ‘One Nite Stand’, Latetia Zonzam, Lagori, Avial and more. <br /><br />The tickets are priced at Rs 1, 000 for the first day and Rs 1,500 for the second and third day.
