I wanted to give Bengalureans a cosy space where they could get a feel of Kolkata while savouring the traditional taste,” he says.<br /><br />The restaurant sources all its spices from Kolkata. “Apart from the meats and other raw material, I get the ‘masalas’ from Kolkata when I travel or ask people visiting from there to bring them,” he says. This is what makes the eatery a top choice among many Bengalis and even non-Bengalis, adds Ranabir. <br /><br />Apart from the nice ambience, the staff is also friendly and Ranabir tries to make a direct connect with his customers. “When a customer walks in, we make sure that fresh food is served to them at the earliest,” he says.<br /><br />From the starters to the meals, the restaurant has something for everyone who wants to indulge in the traditional flavours. “In Kolkata, fish items are a big part of the meal. We offer dishes in many varieties like ‘Pabda’ and ‘Hilsa’, which are prepared in mustard curry,” says Ranabir. <br /><br />He adds that their ‘biryani’ is prepared in a different way. “Our ‘Chicken biryani’ has a big piece of chicken and potato in it. The rice is prepared in saffron and ‘mitha attar’, which is very different from all the other variants in the city. We also have meals like our special ‘Fish meals’,” details Ranabir. <br /><br />For those who want a quick bite, the ‘rolls’ are a perfect choice. “We have a variety of rolls in chicken and egg which are loaded with both these ingredients. These are made with ‘lachcha paratha’. Also we have ‘Mughlai paratha’ which is popular among our customers,” he says. Other items on the menu like ‘Fish fingers’ and ‘Chicken cutlet’ are a hit with people.<br /><br />To complete a meal follows dessert and Bengali cuisine is known for its sweets. “Sweets are a big part of our culture. Our ‘rosogollas’ are fresh and we make sure that they are a great addition to a wholesome meal,” he says.
