BBMP Budget 2025-26 | Highlights

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) presented its annual budget on Saturday, with a total outlay of Rs 19,930 crore for 2025-26 —marking a 50 per cent increase from the previous fiscal year. A significant portion of the revenue is sourced from state government grants.

Dr Harish Kumar K, Special Commissioner (Finance), presented the budget at Town Hall in the presence of BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath and Administrator S R Umashankar. This is the fifth consecutive budget being presented without an elected body.

Revenue

- The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has collected property tax of around Rs.4900 Crore in the year 2024-25, which is the highest in India for the second consecutive year.

- During the year 2025-26, Rs.5716 Crore revenue is expected.

- One-Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) for paying outstanding property tax that would benefit both the BBMP and the citizens, by providing a historic opportunity to lakhs of people of the city to participate in property tax payment mainstream. Rs.1277 Crore of arrears have been collected from around 3 lakh properties.

- The BBMP has fulfilled the promise made to the citizens by the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister by implementing Online, Contactless, Faceless e-khata system by digitizing all the 25 Lakh manual khatas. This is India's largest digital e-khata system,

- BBMP is building a complete and comprehensive GIS based e-khata system with digitized and geo-referenced maps of all properties. Availability of property records at fingertips has made citizens comfortable.

Estate

- A separate survey wing has been established in the BBMP for the survey work and maintenance of records of about 20 lakh private properties and 6,819 BBMP properties under the BBMP's jurisdiction. The BBMP aims to survey and digitize and steps will be taken to scan and digitize 228 property records in 2025-26.

- In order to increase the revenue of BBMP, The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (Estate Management) Rules-2024 has been approved. By fixing the lease/rental amount based on the guidance value, an amount of Rs.210 crore revenue is expected.

Advertisement

- The Government has approved the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Advertisement Bye-Law-2024, The implementation of the new advertising policy is expected to generate revenue of around Rs.750 Crore in this year.

Land Acquisition and e-DRC / e-TDR

- Land acquisition is essential for the proper implementation of the BBMP's infrastructure projects. the BBMP has reserved Rs.100 Crores for land acquisition this financial year.

- e-DRCs/e-TDRs system will revitalize the e-DRC/e-TDR market by bringing trust and transparency and will allow the public to freely participate in the e-DRC/e-TDR online market.

Town Planning

- “Nambike-Nakshe” - Automated Plan Approval System for residential buildings up to 4 dwelling units in site area up to 375 Sq.mtr has been launched from March 2024. Further integration has been taken up with e-Aasthi which will facilitate the online verification of Khatha records.

- BBMP has taken a revolutionary step to increase the stilt height of the building to 4.5mts and not to consider it to overall height of the building

- Premium FAR policy has been implemented and it is expected to collect Rs.2000 Crore from this and Rs.805 Crore from building license from the Town Planning Department is expected.

Administration

- As per general transfer guidelines framed by Government, transfer will be carried out in the year 2025-26. Transparency will be maintained in transfers by following counseling process.

- Punctual attendance and involvement in duty of the staff is very important for timely and effective delivery of municipal services to the citizens. BBMP has implemented a technology, which features geo-fencing and facial recognition to ensure the attendance of the staff.

- In the year 2025-26, 12692 Direct Payment System pourakarmikas are being made permanent, and Rs.500Crore has been allocated for their salaries and allowances.

Welfare

- For the welfare of women, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Backward class/ Minorities and Transgender Community financial assistance is being provided to purchase about 500 electric autos/ goods e-autos for whichRs.10 crore has been reserved to implement e- Sarathy scheme.

- Rs.15 Crore has been reserved in this year for free distribution of electric two-wheelers to eligible working women and Pourakarmikas working in all zones of the BBMP and for electric two-wheelers with extra wheels to the specially-abled persons.

- Transgender community and other economically backward classes BBMP has allocated Rs.10 Crore, to provide 50% of the project cost or a maximum of Rs.2 lakhs as financial assistance, to establish small enterprises for 500 eligible candidates.

- BBMP with the co-ordination of various Government agencies, implementing the Housing Schemes to provide housing facility to 2500 eligible homeless Pourakarmikas (both permanent and DPS), SC/ST,OBC, Specially abled and EWS under “Gruha Bhagya Scheme”, for which Rs.130 Crore has been set aside in the year 2025-26 . The contribution limit for the scheme from BBMP will be increase from 5 lakhs to 6 lakhs.

- In the financial year 2025-26 Sewing machines will be provided to 1000 women.

- Rs.1Crore has been reserved for equipping the libraries in BBMP area with books related to competitive examinations and higher education.

- Rs.2 Crore has been reserved for providing the items of everyday needs of senior citizens.

- Rs.5 Crore has been kept aside for the skill development programs for interested and eligible youths of BBMP limits for the year 2025-26.

- For the welfare of street vendors, Rs.10 Crore has been kept aside by BBMP for the year 2025-26.

- For the development of night shelters for homeless,Rs.5 Crore will be provided in the budget of 2025-26.

- BBMP is planning to provide necessary medical expenses reimbursement for eligible beneficiaries, for which an amount of Rs.2 Crore has been reserved in the budget of 2025-26.

- To encourage the activities of eligible voluntary organizations and associationsRs.5 Crore has been earmarked in the year 2025-26.

- For the development of the slum areas, the encroached slums in the lake bed will be relocated using slum cess and SCP/TSP funds.

Public Relation

- In the year 2024-25, budget allocations of Rs.880 Crore were made under Brand Bengaluru – Sugama Sanchara Bengaluru to improve the quality of life, to reduce the traffic time and increase human productivity.

- The study report highlighted the importance of comprehensive and inclusive approach to urban planning Bengaluru Road infrastructure networking aiming at alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity. Based on the study report it is proposed to undertake the following mega infrastructure projects:

a) Urban vehicular tunnels (estimated cost Rs.42,000 Crore)

b) Construction of elevated corridors/grade separators (estimated cost Rs.13,200 Crore)

c) Construction of integrated metro and road fly-over’s (double duckers) (estimated cost Rs.9,000 Crore)

d) Formation and construction of link roads adjacent to storm water drains (Rajakaluves) for better connectivity of neighborhood (estimated cost Rs.3,000 Crore)

e) White topping of roads (estimated cost Rs.6,000 Crore)

f) Sky-deck (estimated cost Rs.400 Crore)

g) Road widening projects (using TDR)

- For the first time, BBMP shall be undertaking a Volume of Rs.73,600 Crores projects, Under a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). The following five projects will be executed through the SPV.

a) Currently, a D.P.R has been prepared at a cost of Rs.17,780 Crore for the construction of tunnel road along National Highway No.7 from Hebbal- to Hosur Road up to Silk Board which is set to be implemented in this year. Additionally, a D.P.R. is being prepared for the tunnel project for East-West in National Highway No.4 from K.R Puram to Mysore Road. Both tunnel projects, with the total estimated cost of Rs.42,000 Crore will be implemented through BOT/HAM under private- public participation. The Government has committed a Guarantee of Rs.19,000 Crores. The projects are being proposed under the Viability Gap Fund (VGF) method, where in 40% project cost will be financed by Govt./BBMP through bank loans and rest 60% is expected from the Concessionaires.

b) As part of Vehicular flyovers project, aimed at improving connectivity between the outer and inner ring roads and the city’s core areas, 110 km of urban vehicular flyover will be constructed. These initiatives will create signal-free corridors across the city, enhancing traffic flow and reducing congestion at a total cost of Rs.13,200 Crore.

c) BBMP is planning a Combined Metro-Road Flyover Project also known as the Integrated Metro-Road Flyover Project (Double Decker). This initiative, which covers 40 km of corridors, will be implemented with a project cost of Rs.9,000 Crore.

d) A project to construct 300 km of road adjacent to the storm water drain, at a sum of Rs.3000 Crore is being planned.

e) An Action Plan is being formulated to develop the major roads in the BBMP limits under White Topping Project at a cost of Rs.6,000 Crore.

- BBMP has already constructed 200 kms of white topping roads with good results and has received appreciation from citizens. Under the "Brand Bengaluru – Sugama Sanchara Bengaluru" initiative, to increase road infrastructure, build durable and low- cost maintenance arterial and sub-arterial white topping roads, Government and BBMP have allocated Rs.1700 Crore, of which already 157 km of white topping roads are under construction.

- Bengaluru's road infrastructure is set for a major overhaul with the road development and widening project. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity, safety, and sustainability by widening and modernizing 118 roads, as per the Revised Master Plan-2015. The project envisions creating a world-class road network that supports live ability and economic prosperity. To achieve this, an action plan worth Rs.694 Crore has been devised and the fund will be provided in the current financial year.

- In Bengaluru, following the principle of “Pedestrian first”, emphasis will be given for the construction of 1000 km footpath during the ongoing arterial and sub-arterial road works and also in all future road developments.

- For the development of the area around Outer ring road from Central Silk board to K.R. Puram-Lowry Junction Via Baiyappanahalli Metro Station where IT-BT companies with Fortune 500 status are functioning, 22.7 km road with world class standards will be developed at cost of Rs 400 crores with the collaboration of Government of Karnataka, BMRCL and BBMP.

- In collaboration with the Railway Department, construction of railway over bridge in the 1st main road of Kengeri suburb and under bridge near Ramohalli gate will be under taken.

- For the development of 225 wards, Rs.2.50 Crore for capital works and Rs.50 lakhs for maintenance works per ward totaling Rs.675 Crore has been allocated.

- The widening of the roads using TDR will be undertaken from R.T. Nagar police station to near Dr.B.R.Ambedkar College, Lingarajapuram fly over road, Shyampur main road of Pulakeshinagar, Kenchenahalli main road of Yeshwanthpura and some major roads of Mahadevapura.

Brand Bengaluru-Clean Bengaluru

- Under brand Bengaluru-Swachha Bengaluru, a Comprehensive Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISWM)has been developed based on the inputs from public and experts. This 30-year project aims to efficiently collect, transport, process and dispose of solid waste within Bengaluru. This initiative will be implemented in 4 packages, covering 4 directions of the city, with each facility spanning approximately 100 acres.

- Efforts are being taken to process approximately 97.82 lakh tones of accumulated Legacy waste. In the current year 47.60 lakh tones of legacy waste is being processed, at Mandur Phase-1 through bio-mining. At the Bellahalli the same is being processed through bio-remediation. In the year 2025-26 actions are being taken to process 39.07 lakh tonnes of Legacy waste in Mandur Phase-2, Mavallipura, Doddabidarakallu, Lakshmipura, Bingipura and Subbarayanapalya. This initiative is being implemented under the Swachha Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 by utilizing grants from Central and State Governments, along with BBMP resources, with a total estimated budget of Rs.187 Crore.

- Approximately 4500 MTPD of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste is being generated in BBMP, of which 1750 MTPD C&D waste is being processed in two processing plants. To manage waste collected from wards and ensure efficient transportation 3 packages will be implemented under PPP model. Additionally for the disposal of the remaining 3000 MTPD C&D waste, the plan includes 4 packages, each handling 750 MTPD under the PPP model.

- In order to prevent black spots created during waste transfer, Scientific Secondary Transfer Stations are being established. Two Transfer stations are effectively operating in Ward No.148 of BTM division and Ward No.138 of Chamarajpet division and establishment of one transfer station at Sarvajnanagar Division is in completion stage. It is planned to establish 27 transfer stations, one each at assembly constituency, under the 15th Finance Commission and Swachha Bharat Nagar 2.0 grants.

- It is proposed to operationalize Bio CNG unit of 50 MTPD capacity, 4 Bio Meth nation plants of 5 MTPD capacities, Animal Waste rendering and incineration plant of 8 MTPD capacities, 3 domestic Sanitary Waste processing facility of total 25 MTPD capacity. It is also proposed to establish a Bio CNG unit with a capacity of 300 MT per day in association with M/s Gas Authority of India Limited.

- In line with the need to establish high capacity processing units for dry waste management within the limits of the BBMP, it is planned to establish a MRF (Material Recovery Facility)of 1226 MTPD capacity under the Swachha Bharat Nagar 2.0 grants with an allocation of Rs.104 Crore.

- In collaboration with M/s. CIPET (Central Institute of Petro Chemicals Engineering and Technology), 5 tons per day of plastic and e-waste processing cum training center is being established as a pilot project at the KCDC at a cost of Rs.6 Crore.

- Under State Government grants, it has been planned to process approximately 2878.13 million liters of Legacy Leach ate accumulated at Bellahalli (Survey No.13), Mittaganahalli (Survey No.02), Bagalur (Survey No.176&271), Baiyappanahalli (Survey No.80) and Kannur (Survey No.50). The processing cost is estimated at Rs. 1.65 per liter, totaling Rs.474.89 Crore.

- Exclusive Integrated Command and Control Center for solid waste management will be made operational to monitor the primary and secondary Garbage collection vehicles and other activities of solid waste management.

- An action plan has been prepared with the following allocations: Rs.75 Crore for development of landfills, Rs.50 Crore for fencing for the SWM properties, Rs.55 Crore to establish decentralized processing plants. Rs.100 Crore as BBMP contribution for the projects under the Swachha Bharat Nagar 2.0 campaign.

- Bengaluru’s infrastructure is set to receive a significant boost with the allocation of Rs.30 Crore in 2024-25 to improve mechanical sweeping machines, along 1500 km of arterial and sub arterial roads, with an additional Rs.40 Crore earmarked for 2025-26.

- From 01.08.2024 BBMP is paying a monthly pension from the accrued interest on a deposit of Rs.10 lakh each to the 1077 retired Pourakarmika’s who have served minimum of 5 years in BBMP (under contractor and BBMP as DPS PK’s). For this purpose, BBMP has already kept a fixed deposit of Rs.107.70 Crore in nationalized bank. This year also based on number of retired Pourakarmika’s an amount of Rs.55 Crore will be reserved for this corpus.

- BBMP has already provided 181 Suvidha Cabins with basic infrastructure to change Uniforms, to keep personal belongings, to have food along with rest rooms and toilets for Pourakarmikas at mustering locations. Presently BBMP has planned to construct permanent structure at 52 locations with above facilities.

- It is proposed to collect solid waste management user fee along with property tax from the year 2025-26.

- In the year 2025-26, Rs.1400 Crore has been allocated to Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) for collection and transportation of solid waste, segregation and processing, development of Landfills and Maintenance of Solid Waste Processing units.

Brand Bengaluru-Green Bengaluru

- The BBMP Forest Wing is carrying out the forestry activities such as greening of the urban areas, Tree Canopy Management, Conservation of Wild Life and other related activities across the city. To maintain/retain the green cover of the Bengaluru City by utilizing the CSR funds with the help of citizens, associations and corporates it is aimed to grow and nurture 5 lakh saplings in this year. Rs.51.69 Crore has been allocated for the forest department of BBMP to carry out all its activities in the year 2025-26.

- Wildlife Conservators Team have been appointed to resolve the Human and Animal conflict, to rescue injured birds/snakes/animals, respond to the public complaints and also re-habilitate the birds/animals. Re-habilitation Unit which is being constructed at the Bannerghatta Biological Park will be functional this year.

- BBMP is currently maintaining about 1280 parks. Under 15th Finance Commission Grants 14 New Parks will be developed as part of “Brand Bengaluru-Green Bengaluru” initiative. Well planned park with all facilities in 20 acre of Government land near Singapura Lake will be developed.

- Composting units and 125 water storage tanks will be constructed to store and process the Sewage water and use it for the parks.

- The climate action cell shall ensure regular stakeholder coordination to facilitate timely implementation of actions as laid out in the Bengaluru Climate Action Plan (BCAP), the cell shall organize events to build capacities of stakeholders, convene discussions and generate awareness on BCAP.

- BBMP’s Climate Action cell (CAC) is starting an internship program for aspiring environmentalists and climate advocates to contribute to Bengaluru’s Climate Actions Initiatives. It is an Ideal opportunity for young Graduates to be a part of the city’s Climate action efforts and make a tangible difference in building a more resilient future for Bengaluru. In the first Cohort, CAC will onboard 10 fellows for a period of 2 to 6 months.

- The Climate Action Cell shall work on formulation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance the Blue Green infrastructure network (BGIN) of Bengaluru by focusing on Nature Based Solution (NBS). To recognize innovative and impactful climate actions undertaken by citizens and communities of Bengaluru, “Blu-Green Awards" have been introduced.

- In the year 2025-26, BBMP is also coming up with a Forest Manual which will help in guiding on scientific greening and scientific management of existing tree canopy.

- Energy audit of major public buildings owned by BBMP shall be taken up, for which Rs.2 Crore will be allocated. .

- In order to implement the Bengaluru Climate Action & Resilience Plan (BCAP) and focus on climate actions on ground, one ward per each Legislative Assembly constituency will be selected. For this Rs.28 Crore has been reserved for the year 2025-26.

- BBMP is committed to enhance green spaces and recreational facilities through an ambitious Parks & Playgrounds Development Initiative. To implement this, an amount of Rs.92Crore is allocated towards horticulture works, civil infrastructure, public amenities and BBMP playgrounds.

- BBMP has taken up fencing of park boundaries and repairs of existing parks infrastructure. In order to secure the Parks and maintain the existing 1280 parks under BBMP horticulture division, an amount of Rs. 118Crore is allocated.

- To promote mobility and encourage outdoor activities, sports equipment will be installed in parks and public places for the benefit of children.

- The long-awaited tree census will be completed this year

Brand Bengaluru-Healthu Bengaluru

- Under Brand Bengaluru Concept with budgetary outlay of Rs.413 Crore which will be spent in the next two years, Under this project bed capacity of 19 hospitals will be enhanced from existing 852 beds to 1122 beds. 60 different bloods tests shall be done free of cost in all UPHCs and Namma Clinics in Bengaluru. 26 dental units will be launched for the first time in BBMP to improve dental services.

- 144 electric vehicles will be provided to the programme to improve the immunization of Urban poor, Migrants, Nomads, Slum dwellers and children.

- 26 BLS ambulances are proposed for early cardiac care in case of cardiac arrest and other emergency conditions for citizens of Bengaluru.

- Physiotherapy services to Speciallyabled children are already being provided in Bengaluru, in addition to this 7physiotherapy Centers will be launched this year under “Brand Bengaluru- Healthy Bengaluru”.

- To increase the reach of screening, 54 AI based Refract meters will be used in future to screen each and every school child in Bengaluru.

- BBMP has launched the SAVE-MOM AI-based mother and child care platform for providing comprehensive, efficient and continuous care for pregnant women and infants. Around 200 mothers will be piloted in 2 UPHCs to ensure personalized, continuous care, supporting better maternal and child health outcomes across Bengaluru. This will be rolled out to screen all high risk pregnant women 24/7 in the future under AI-based SAVE-MOM mother and child care platform.

- BBMP plans to dedicate two of its referral hospitals to handle High Risk Pregnancies in BBMP’s jurisdiction by equipping it with all requisite equipment, staff and other needed things.

- BBMP’s M.C Lay Out Hospital with 300 bedded capacity is made functional with multispecialty services .A proposal to start a new Medical College using this infrastructure will be submitted to Government for which an amount of Rs.633 Crore is required.

- BBMP intends to neuter 75,000 dogs under its Animal birth Control Program. Combined vaccination will be administered to 1,80,000 plus dogs in the jurisdiction of BBMP.

- Veterinary clinics will be started in six zones of BBMP. Two New Animal Birth Control centers will be established in Bommanhalli and Mahadevpura Zones with approximate cost of Rs.7.5 Crore. Observation center for habitual biting dogs will be established in Yelahanka. Infirmary for the terminally ill or injured dogs will be established. Animal crematoria will be established in three zones.

- BBMP has successfully completed Pilot project of Micro chipping of street dogs, hence it will be extended across BBMP. After successful implementation of Pilot project, feeding of community dogs will be taken up across BBMP.Rs.60 Crore will be allocated in the year 2025-26 for the maintenance of Street dogs.

- City and Civil slaughter houses will be modernized as per latest technology with a cost of Rs.5 Crore. For the construction of new slaughter house and maintenance an amount of Rs.10 Crore and Rs.2 Crore is allocated respectively in the year 2025-26.

- To avoid the inconvenience and delay caused to the traders in getting the Trade license, it is proposed To facilitate Online service, for this existing software will be modified.

- This year additional works will be taken up in 50 bedded Hospital of Singapura, Raypura Maternity Hospital, Sagaypura and Kushalnagara hospitals.

- Electric Crematorium will be set up in Kumbalagodu and Tavarekere.

Brand Bengaluru-Education Bengaluru

- To provide quality education to children studying in BBMP schools and colleges, a budgetary allocation of Rs.183.69Crore has been made in this year.

- BBMP shall open up new schools in five new outer zones of the city to reach out to more children with a promise of quality education. 15 school buildings are ready for taking admissions in the next academic session. Rest 16 school buildings are under construction and will be completed in the upcoming year.

- As per the Karnataka Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules-2012, A comprehensive plan will be implemented to prevent school drop-outs.

- Focus shall be given on language mapping exercises to ensure improved learning outcomes for children speaking different languages. Mothers, caretakers and the local community shall be involved in ensuring student attendance in schools.

- Workshops and training shall be conducted for teachers, with the focus on nursery and Primary schools, to improve the teaching and pedagogy throughout the year. This shall instill confidence among the parents, and ensure more and continued enrolment in BBMP schools.

- The students of selected schools and colleges will be made engage in rainwater harvesting, Kitchen gardens and Solar rooftop panels. Good quality sanitary napkin incinerators shall be installed in all High school and PU colleges to ensure safe disposal of sanitary waste.

- Providing smart panels to Primary and high schools. These interactive whiteboards significantly enhance student engagement by providing a dynamic and interactive learning environment, allowing teachers to incorporate multimedia content like videos, images, and presentations, which cater to diverse learning styles, and facilitate collaborative learning through touch-based interactions. Teachers shall be trained to use these smart boards, which will ultimately improve the overall learning experience for students of all abilities.

- The Salaries of teachers appointed by School Development and Monitoring Committee and College Development Committee serving in the educational institutions of the BBMP will be increased by Rs.2000/- per month.

- For the year 2025-26 Rs.23.34 Crore has been allocated for the Maintenance of school buildings, Rs.30 Crore for development of play grounds, Rs.120.35 Crore for Educational programmes and Rs.10Crore for “Brand Bengaluru- Shikshana Bengaluru”.

Brand Bengaluru-Water Security Bengaluru

- For Development and Maintenance of Lakes an amount of Rs.210.00 Cr is provided in this budget.

- As a part of our efforts to enhance ecological awareness and biodiversity conservation, we will be establishing bird repositories across all lakes in the city.

- BBMP shall take up the implementation of rainwater harvesting systems in BBMP buildings and public spaces.

- The Government of Karnataka, with financial assistance from the World Bank, has allocated Rs.2000 Crore to enhance Bengaluru's climate resilience. A key project involves constructing barriers along 174 km of the Rajakaluve, part of the 860km network in Bengaluru, to prevent rainwater from entering densely populated areas. This initiative aims to create a sustainable environment and mitigate flood risks. This will be achieved in the coming three years. The World Bank is expected to release Rs. 500 Crore.

- To provide permanent relief to flood-affected areas of Bengaluru city, efforts are underway with a project cost of Rs.247.25 Crore allocated for 2025-26 from the National Disaster Relief Fund.

- Bore wells and the Reverse Osmosis Plants in the BBMP jurisdiction will be handed over to Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewage Board along with the transfer of all related State Government funds and funds from other sources after deducting the pending maintenance expenses.

Brand Bengaluru-Tech Bengaluru

- It is intended to use artificial intelligence extensively in all the services of the BBMP.To streamline service processes, improve efficiency in administration and provide better services to the citizens

- Up gradation of the Sahaya web application for the grievance management has been developed. This will save crores of rupees for the BBMP.

- BBMP has already developed a robust e-Khatha/ e-Aasthi systems. By integrating e-Aasthi with property tax, trade license, building plan approvals, BESCOM, BWSSB and other relevant data sources through AI system, BBMP aims to find out property tax defaulters.

- The Web portals alone cannot cater to the needs of wide range of citizens. The Mobile has now become more popular among citizens than the web portal services. To reach out majority of citizens we propose to shift as many services as possible onto mobile platforms, integrating multiple databases for automatic citizen services. It is also proposed to develop and integrate citizen friendly APPs like the Trade License APP, Telecom Towers-APP, Building Plan-APP, Clean-City-Waste-management-APP, Electric-Crematorium-APP, Lakes-Management-APP, and BBMP-Asset-Management-APP.

- BBMP has already developed many mobile Apps for better citizen services like the – Fix-Pot Hole-APP, Sahaaya-Public Grievances-APP, E-Khatha-APP, Advertisement-APP, Property-GPS-App etc. It is time to bring all these Mobile APPs under one umbrella – BBMP-ONE-APP, integrating and making it more citizens friendly. Rs.40 Crore has been earmarked under Brand Bengaluru-Tech Bengaluru.

- The information obtained from Safe City cameras in the city and cameras installed in BBMP vehicles is analyzed using artificial intelligence-based technology to identify illegal buildings, deteriorated roads (potholes), rainwater stagnation areas, garbage issues, unauthorized advertisements and pedestrian encroachment etc., have been successfully implemented. By expanding this system to the entire BBMP, with the help of artificial intelligence-based technology, action will be taken quickly to resolve the problems of citizens by analyzing the information provided by cameras installed under various projects within the BBMP.

Brand Bengaluru-Vibrant Bengaluru

- To enhance Bengaluru's aesthetic appeal, the BBMP has allocated funds for various beautification projects. In 2024-25, Rs.50 Crore have been earmarked for installing decorative lights, while Rs.25 Crore will be used for improving junctions and beautifying public spaces. Additionally, a sum of Rs.50 Crore has been allocated for constructing a Sky deck, further adding to the city's charm. These Projects are under Progress.

- To encourage tourism, to view the scenic beauty of Bengaluru city, for employment generation, to increase the revenue and to celebrate the modern facilities of the city and to make the city more attractive a Sky deck is proposed to be built. Public Notice is invited to identify the place along with objections or suggestions. Based on the feedback, necessary action will be taken and the work will be executed.

- The BBMP is undertaking an initiative of transition to energy-efficient lighting infrastructure, aiming to reduce Bengaluru's carbon footprint. In 2024-25, the BBMP spent over Rs.300 Crore on electricity charges. To mitigate this, traditional sodium and metal halide lamps will be replaced with LED technology. By 2025-26, the BBMP aims to decrease energy expenditure from Rs. 300 Crore to Rs. 200 Crore, reallocating the saved Rs. 100 Crore to enhance electricity infrastructure for Bengaluru's citizens.

- For the development of Magadi Fort Rs.100 Crore has been allocated to Kempegowda Development Authority.

- Measures will be taken, for the citizens of BBMP, to make use of the Sport facility at the Stadium being constructed in Dr.Shivarama Karanth layout by Bengaluru Development Authority spanning 50 acres of land.

- Our focus will be on Promoting Art and Culture, Encouraging Community Participation, Enhancing Public Spaces and Boosting Well-being and Recreation. By integrating culture with nature, we aim to create inclusive, engaging and lively public spaces that strengthen community bonds and improve the quality of urban life. To foster a vibrant community spirit and enhance public engagement, we will organize cultural events like “Bengaluru Habba” throughout the year across city parks. These events will transform our parks into lively hubs of creativity, recreation and social interaction.

- BBMP will support the initiative of Youth Services and Sports Department, in the construction of multipurpose sports facility center in Jakkur of Northern Bengaluru.

- The Financial assistance will be extended this year also, for the up gradation of traditional Russell Market, for development of Ulsoor Lake and Swimming pool and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in H.S.R layout.

In 2024-25, under the Brand Bengaluru initiatives, mega projects worth ofRs.2828 Crore have been undertaken over a period of three years. For the execution of these works Rs.660 Crore has been transferred to a separate ESCROW account in the year 2024-25. Budgetary allocation of Rs.700 Crore has been provided in the year 2025-26 which will be transferred to the ESCROW account. Total Rs.1360 Crore will be spent during the year 2025-26 and the remaining works will be completed with the allocation of funds in the year 2026-27.

The BBMP's 2025-26 budget, prepared under the Brand Bengaluru concept, incorporates key initiatives and allocations.

In 2025-26 BBMP’s Total Receipts will be Rs.19,930.64 Crore which comprises of an opening balance of Rs.2.53 Crore, revenue from its own resources Rs.11,149.17Crore and Central and State Government Grants of Rs.8778.94 Crore. This budget with the total expenditure of Rs.19,927.08 Crore, a surplus budget of Rs.3.56 Crore is presented before the citizens of Bengaluru.
