<p>Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has extended the deadline for its social welfare programmes to May 2.</p>.<p>These schemes are aimed at supporting Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities, civic workers, economically backward minority groups, persons with disabilities, and people from third-gender communities.</p>.<p>Applications can be submitted via both physical and online modes.</p>.<p>The programmes offer a wide range of benefits, including assistance for the construction of houses under the Onti Mane or Amrita Mahotsav Yojana, school fee reimbursement, subsidies for higher education and foreign studies, and healthcare support for serious illnesses.</p>.<p>Senior citizens are eligible for health check-ups, while people with disabilities can access services such as limb transplants, surgeries, and physiotherapy.</p>.Bescom joins BBMP to help crackdown on unauthorised constructions.<p>Financial aid and incentive funds are also available to help beneficiaries purchase musical instruments for small businesses, and to promote self-employment opportunities for students with special abilities by helping them set up small industries.
