<p> Sources in the BBMP said, the contract period had lapsed in 2006 but till now no one had come forward for the renewal. <br /><br />Recently the Joint Commissioner of East Zone of the BBMP, Puttaswamy served a notice on them following which the traders suddenly swung into action and applied for the renewal of the parking licence for themselves and their customers. Though the applications for the renewal of the parking space on Brigade Road had been received, the penalty amount was yet to be paid. Sources said the Palike would calculate the amount later.<br /><br />It is learnt that the rate of the parking fee was to be revised in 2007 but was not done. <br />In the meantime, BBMP is contemplating to scrap the automated parking facility on Brigade Road.</p>
