<p>A bus driver from Bengaluru has received an honorary doctorate from American Wisdom Peace University for his role as a snake-handling skill trainer, according to the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). </p>.<p>Ranganath K, attached to the BMTC’s depot number 35, is also a snake conservationist. He has been working as a driver in the BMTC for 14 years now. During his free time, he responds to public requests to capture and conserve snakes found in homes and <br>offices. </p>.BMTC recruits 2,286 bus conductors .<p>The BMTC said that Ranganath learnt the art of snake catching at a young age. In the last 30 years, he has conserved 4,552 venomous snakes of various species. Recognising his public concern and his efforts in snake conservation, various organisations have honoured him with 14 awards, the BMTC <br>added. </p>
