The Central Crime Branch police on Sunday raided various clubs and arrested 162 people, including rowdies, indulging in gambling. They also seized Rs 5 lakh in cash.
A team headed by DCP (Crime) S Girish raided the Karnataka Media Club in Jayanagar 4th Block and arrested 78 people, besides seizing Rs 2.42 lakh and tokens worth Rs 6 lakh.
The team then raided the Card Deck poker club, making 29 arrests and confiscating Rs 1.42 lakh, while they nabbed 25 people from the Best Club in RR Nagar and seized Rs 1.15 lakh. They took 15 people into custody from the BDSA Club, besides seizing cash.
The police also raided the Navrang Bar and held 15 rowdy elements. They said rowdy elements used these clubs to plan criminal activities and even indulged in rampant gambling.
