The event was Budding Artists Day Out, a painting competition for children in the age group of 5 to 15 years organised at Bal Bhavan, Cubbon Park on Sunday.

The budding artists took a break from their books and picked up brushes dipped in colourful paints to create their own masterpieces. The children also got to interact with artist

Gurudas Shenoy who was the chief guest of the event. The competition was organised to identify and promote young talented artists. The event met with resounding success with participation from children from all walks of  life.

“There are several talented children in our society who do not get an opportunity to showcase their artistic talent. This is our attempt at giving them a platform to exhibit their artistic excellence,” said Dayanand Pai, founder, Century Group, while commenting on this new initiative.

Since the competition received a tremendous response, Century Real Estate Holdings, organisers of the event, are planning to conduct the painting competition on an annual basis.
