Police gave the name of the dead as Enoch G R (17). His sister Navarani (23) is battling for life at a private hospital.
Enoch, who was taking his sister to the market on his motorcycle, tried to overtake the bus when he came under its rear wheel and died instantaneously after suffering severe head injuries.
Complaint
Police have seized the bus belonging to Sea College.
Yohan, Enoch’s friend and other eye-witnesses, chased the bus and spotted it on the college campus near Devasandra.
Speaking with Deccan Herald, they accused the police of deliberately delaying registration of a complaint. It was evident they supported the killer bus driver and its owners, they said. An alert passerby had noted down the bus number — KA-53-4142.
“The bus driver did not show any concern for Enoch or his sister. As if that wasn’t enough, when we approached the college management, one Jayanna from the administration department spoke rudely and told us to go ahead and do whatever we can... The college is owned by a former MLA. Later, they also sent another vehicle and a driver to hush up the case,” they said.
