If you are planning a family outing this weekend, we recommend ‘Cross Roads Inn’ in JP Nagar. It is a restaurant that offers a buffet with options like South Indian, North
Indian and Chinese cuisines.

It’s best if you reserve a table for yourself or you might have to wait a while. Metrolife visited ‘Cross Roads Inn’ on a Monday afternoon and to our surprise, it was packed.

It has a very homely feeling to it. The wooden tables and the comfortable chairs are just what you need on a lazy weekend (or on a Monday, in our case).

For starters, try their ‘Crispy Chilli Corn’. The fried corn mixed with onion and chillies was a flavourful start to our meal.

We also tried the ‘Tandoori Pineapple’. The fruit was finely cut and roasted with just the right amount of masala. The tangy after-taste left us wanting for more.

Though we were not in a mood for soup, the name on the menu card compelled us to order one.

We picked the ‘Hot Pot Thick Soup’. We enjoyed the well-balanced flavour it had to offer. A small tip — sip it while it’s hot!

For the main course, we tried Veg Pulav. We didn’t find that it was different from the variants of it but thanks to the well-cooked peas it in, we didn’t mind finishing it. We paired that with ‘Matar Paneer’ gravy. This elevated the flavour of the entire meal and we couldn’t be happier.

If pulav or biryani is not what you are looking for, you can try the ‘Bisi Bele Bath’. Embrace the South Indian flavours and sprinkle the ‘khara bhoondi’ to complete the meal.

Don’t fill yourself up just yet. We still have desserts to go.

The ‘Custard Fruit Salad’ was a refreshing end to the meal. Try the ‘Dry Jamun’ if you are looking for something sweet. We liked that the jamun melted in our mouths and it tasted great with butterscotch ice cream.

The ‘Coconut Payasam’ is something one has to try here. The consistency was just right and we didn’t feel too full by the end of the meal.

Kids can opt for cotton candy machine. That’s located at the entrance of the restaurant.

Apart from being a good option for families to dine at, it’s also a good spot for IT and business professionals or for leisure travellers.
