<p>The urban development department has regulated deputation postings for BBMP by drafting a fresh rule and ordered for direct recruitment to Group A, B and C categories through competitive exams.</p>.<p class="bodytext">This has been the long-pending demand of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike officials.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The public can file objections within 30 days.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to the newly drafted rule, the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) or Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will conduct competitive exams for recruitment to Group A, B and C category posts. The state government or BBMP commissioner can take a decision on recruitment as per requirements.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The BBMP commissioner or officials appointed by the commissioner are free to take decisions on recruitment of B, C and D categories.</p>.<p class="bodytext">IAS cadres will hold the chair of commissioner, special commissioner (planning), special commissioner (resource and finance) and additional commissioner (administration) in the BBMP.</p>.<p class="CrossHead">11 JC positions</p>.<p class="bodytext">About 90% of joint commissioner (JC) positions will be filled by senior cadre KAS officers through deputation. The remaining positions will be filled by giving promotions to deputy commissioners (revenue).</p>.<p class="bodytext">About 50% of these positions will be filled by senior cadre KAS officers. The remaining positions will be filled by giving promotions in the revenue department, based on seniority and merit.</p>.<p class="CrossHead">Cadre change</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to rule 11, a provision has been made for change of cadre. Officials have to file requests to the competent recruitment authority, which will consider them on seniority basis.</p>.<p class="CrossHead">Probation</p>.<p class="bodytext">The candidates recruited for all categories must undergo a two-year probation.
