A 30-year-old habitual offender was bludgeoned to death by his friends at Subramanyapura on Thursday night. The police have detained two suspects based on a tip-off and are interrogating them.

On Thursday night, the assailant attacked him with stones and later threw his body in a vacant site.

The police said that preliminary investigation revealed that the murder could be a result of an old rivalry but they are yet to ascertain the exact motive behind the death. The investigation will be conducted exploring all angles.

The deceased Sushanth alias Payee, a resident of Vasanthapura, was working as a cab driver.

According to the police, Sushanth was released from the jail recently after being acquitted for the murder of a security guard. After his release, he was once again involved in anti-social activities. RR Nagar police and Kengeri police had opened a history sheet against him.
