I-T officials conduct raids on Bengaluru builders over suspected tax evasion

Bengaluru: Income Tax (I-T) officials carried out surprise inspections on Wednesday at properties linked to several builders and real estate businessmen in Bengaluru.

Sources revealed that the raids were part of an investigation into suspected tax evasion. They were conducted at 20 locations across the city, including Vyalikaval and Kathriguppe.

The operation began early in the morning and extended into the evening. Multiple teams of I-T officials conducted simultaneous inspections, scrutinising business transaction records, and verifying property documents.

Details regarding any seizures or findings were not immediately available, officials said.
