Burglars struck at the house of an IAS officer in Dollar’s Colony, north Bengaluru, and fled with 270 gms of gold and Rs 12,000 in cash.
The break-in at the house of Subodh Yadav, Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare, may have happened on Sunday or Monday night, the police suspect. The incident came to light when Yadav returned to his house around 10 pm on Monday. He found the door and safes brokem open, and gold and cash missing. The stolen gold is valued at over Rs 7 lakh.
Yadav had gone to Chennai for renewal of his passport and locked the house. The jurisdictional Sanjaynagar police have registered a case of break-in. “It could be the handiwork of one or two professional burglars,” a senior police officer told DH.
