Income Tax Run draws 300 employees, their kin

More than 300 employees and their families took part in the ‘Income Tax Run’ organised on Sunday morning by the Income Tax Department, Karnataka and Goa.

The run, held ahead of the 157th ‘Income Tax Day’ celebrations on Monday, was flagged off at 6 am by Reeth Abraham, Arjuna awardee and former South Asian Games champion.

Rajnish Kumar, Principal Chief Commissioner of the department, took part in the run which started at Central Revenue (CR) Building, Queen’s Road.

Children from Sneha Care Home, a residential programme for those infected with HIV, took part in the 5K open run.

There was also a 3K run for men and women aged over 40 years.

157th Income Tax Day
On Monday, the department will organise a programme to celebrate the 157th Income Tax Day.

Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be the guests at the event, which will be held at CR Building, Queen’s Road.
