Mahesh is pleased with the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) decision and says, “The world is not a static place and is not blind to change. The society is mature and the movie is made for them. The Censor Board has evolved with age and has looked at the movie with maturity. I welcome the new Censor Board that has not further mutilated the movie.”<br /><br />The producer who does offbeat movies has always given novelty to the eyes of his viewers. “There is freshness in new people. There are always fresh flowers that bloom in the garden. But people lack the courage to cast fresh talent as there is uncertainity. <br /><br />There is security in certainity but the only certainity here is uncertainity! Fate is the material and I take talented people as they have that spark in them. The audience is generous to the younger lot and they want to see something new. I have repeatedly cast new faces in my film and audience has accepted it, ” he says. The 65-year-old, says, “Every flower has a limited period of time. It blooms and stays for a while. Then a new life has to emerge. I enjoy the process of production and like to give identity to new talents,” he expresses. <br /><br />He is known for his unconventional style. He tries to create something that reflects the current scenario. “I tell the story as it appears to me. I have created a brand of my own by not sticking to the prevailing thoughts. I believe that art has to do with subverting and revolting,” he explains.<br /><br />A doting father, he takes pride in Alia Bhatt’s success. “She has got it on her own terms. She is self-made and I am really proud of her. She is in the dawn of her career and has already achieved a lot as an actor.
