Businessman and owner of Bellary Tusker, a Karnataka Premier League (KPL) Twenty20 cricket team, was arrested for allegedly assaulting policemen at a club in Kundalahalli in the early hours of Sunday.

The HAL police arrested Arvind Venkatesh Reddy, who hosted a party ahead of the inauguration of KPL-2018 on August 15 for the players and his friends at EZone Club. He played noisy music after 10 pm and created nuisance for residents in the area. The Hoysala and other policemen tried to stop the party after the neighbours began to complain.

Reddy, however, hurled abuses at the police and later assaulted them, and asked them to leave the club premises.

The police later lodged a complaint and arrested Reddy from his Frazer Town residence. He was booked for assault and obstructing government servants from discharging their duty.
