The Magic Circle of Bengaluru, in association with the government-run Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, held a magic show for cancer patients on Tuesday to celebrate the 109th birthday of famed magician P C Sorcar.

The show took place in the Kapur Block for Children at the hospital, and Dr K S Ravindranath, the former vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, was the chief guest.

Around 300 people, including inpatients and their attendees, watched the magic show.

"Entertainment shows were conducted here regularly before Covid-19. Today, after a long time, we organised this event by ensuring social-distancing. It entertained the patients and everyone had a nice time," said Dr C Ramachandra, Director, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.

S P Nagendra Prasad, president, Magic Circle of Bengaluru, said performing at the children's hospital gave him and his team immense gratification. The show is performed every year at the hospital to mark Sorcar's birth anniversary, he added.

Ten magicians performed in the show, delighting children with their tricks. A few doctors and magicians were felicitated at the event.
