<p>According to the complaint filed by Narashimhamurthy with the Yelahanka police, he was about to be fooled by a man named Viki who tried to sell to sell 40 coins and a chain of ‘gold’, weighing two kg, trying to palm the stuff off as belonging to the Adil Shahis of Bijapur. <br /><br />Viki told his would-be victim that he had procured the ‘antique jewellery’ from a place near Gol Gumbaz in Bijapur. <br /><br />“I was returning from Hyderabad nearly 10 days ago and met a co-passenger who identified himself as Viki. After reaching Bangalore, he contacted me over phone and asked me to come near Majestic where he told me about the hoard of gold. He said he wanted to sell the jewellery as he needed money. I could not resist myself and settled the deal at Rs 70,000, ” Narashimhamurthy mentioned in his complaint. <br /><br />After the deal was finalised, Viki had sent his associate Bhagat to Narasimhamurthy’s house in Yelahanka on Thursday to collect the money and handover the gold coins and the chain. <br /><br />“When I asked Bhagath to show me the coins and the chain, he hesitated. This made me suspicious and I snatched one coin which was in his hand. I was shocked to find out that it was a coin with copper coating. Some how, I managed to catch Bhagat and handed him over to police,” he said. Viki is absconding and Yelahanka police are investigating into the matter.<br /><br />Four killed in accidents <br /><br />Three persons were killed in separate accidents in the City on Friday, and a pedestrian was killed in an accident on Thursday evening in Seshadripuram. <br /><br />Two of them were run over by trains, while another was killed in a road accident on Friday.
