Man booked for posing as health officer to cheat business owners in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Officials of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation have filed a complaint against an individual for cheating business owners by impersonating a health officer.

According to the complaint, the accused, Tilak Srinivas, falsely represented himself as a Senior Health Inspector of the Central City Corporation and collected money from business owners through his personal mobile payment scanner on the pretext of processing trade licence applications.

The accused allegedly defrauded business owners within the limits of Sudhamanagar Ward and Hombegowdanagar Ward under the Chickpet Division.

The Medical Health Officer (Chickpet Division) immediately submitted a written complaint to the jurisdictional police station for necessary action.

Recently, the GBA had urged trade owners to ensure that their trade licences are renewed by February 28. After February 28, the corporations will levy a penalty, GBA Commissioner Maheshwar Rao had said.
