<p>It is not just women but men can also cast their votes in the pink polling booths that will be set up across the city, the election commission officers have clarified.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to Sanjiv Kumar, chief electoral officer, and district election officer and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) commissioner M Maheshwar Rao, men are also allowed to cast their votes in 'sakhi' or pink polling booths.</p>.<p class="bodytext">However, these booths will be monitored only by women polling officers wearing pink sarees. The booth will be designed with pink posters, the officers said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sanjiv Kumar said the initiative aims to encourage more women voters to cast votes.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Over 600 pink polling booths will be set up in the state, out of which 100 will be in Bangalore.</p>
