<p>The High Court on Wednesday ordered issuance of non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Chief Electrical Inspector as he had failed to appear before the court, despite its directions. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Justice Ram Mohan Reddy ordered the NBW and directed that he be produced before the court in the next hearing on July 16.<br /><br />The court issued the warrant, while hearing a petition by Ashwini Manoj Patil, who contended that her husband Manoj Patil died on May 18, 2013 due to electrocution on a rainy day after he came in contact with the fence of the transformers opposite Kaati Zone restaurant on Church Street. The petitioner has sought compensation from Bescom.<br /><br />School dropouts<br /><br />The government advocate has submitted to the High Court that a campaign to bring back Out of School Children will be conducted from July 15 to July 31. <br /><br />The counsel said that there are 91,200-odd children still out of school and the department of primary and secondary education is making efforts to bring all children back to school through the campaign. A division bench headed by Chief Justice D H Waghela adjourned the hearing to August 12.<br /><br />Govt told to file affidavit<br /><br />The High Court has directed the State government to file an affidavit about the ‘personal responsibility of the officers’ who are responsible to remove encroachments on footpaths.<br /><br /> Hearing a PIL, a division bench headed by Chief Justice D H Waghela directed the BBMP counsel to ensure that all kinds of encroachment are removed from the footpaths and to make way for pedestrians to move freely. <br /><br />The court directed the government and BBMP counsels to submit their documents in the next hearing on July 22.<br /></p>
