<p>For several Swiggy customers in the city, food ordered on fingertips failed to turn up at their doorsteps.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Customers of the app based food delivery service 'Swiggy' were left waiting for their food for an uncertain time period. Their attempts to order for a meal was either met with long periods of delay or no-show at all.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The service was disrupted in the Marathahalli area from Sunday night untill Monday, due to a strike by its delivery executives.</p>.<p class="bodytext">An official statement by Swiggy said that the strike was against a revised incentive scheme. It read "The revised incentive scheme will reward top-performing delivery partners, whilst enabling everybody with more opportunities to increase their earnings."</p>.<p class="bodytext">The statement added, "We continue to be committed to serving the city with the best food experience and providing a steady income to our delivery partners. We are working with the delivery partners who have raised concerns and will resume service shortly,"</p>.<p class="bodytext">Several customers took to the social media platform, Twitter to voice their outrage. Manik Jindal, tweeted, "Food not delivered even after 2 hours - 2 days in a row. @swiggy_in unable to deal with delivery execs #swiggyStrike happening here in Marathahalli."(sic)</p>.<p class="bodytext">Aditya Sharat, another Twitter user posted "@swiggy_in please stop taking orders for restaurants near Whitefield, Bengaluru. There is some on-going strike because of which I waited for over 3hrs and cancelled 2 orders. Please educate your riders to inform this to the customer care so that they can inform us. I had to call twice." (sic)</p>.<p class="bodytext">A similiar strike had taken place in Pune, last year. Over 500 delivery executives had gone on a strike to protest the changes in a policy which altered their fares, bonuses, and routes.</p>
