Over 250 to receive Kempegowda Awards

The 2018 edition of Kempegowda Awards will hit a new record as the BBMP is selecting more than 250 people for the honour.

Agriculturist Mahadevappa, journalist M Nagaraju, writer M S Ashadevi, actors Sudeep, Ramesh Aravind, Srujan Lokesh, directors T N Sitaram, B Suresh, Koodlu Ramakrishna, theatre person Srinivasa G Kappanna, researcher M G Nagaraj, Rajiv Gandhi University vice-chancellor Dr Sachchidananda and Dr Kamini Rao are some of the leading names on the list.

The number has not crossed 200 till now. However, it is expected to go beyond 250 this time.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is scheduled to present the award, which carries a purse of Rs 15,000, on Thursday.
