Palike will build gyms in all wards, says Mayor

The BBMP will build open gymnasiums of global standards in all 198 wards of the city, Mayor G Padmavathi announced on Thursday.

The Mayor was speaking after inaugurating a gymnasium at Circular Park in Nandini Layout. She said the gymnasium had been developed using grants from the local area development funds of Mahalakshmi Layout MLA K Gopalaiah.

She said this was the first time that an outdoor public gymnasium had been built in the city. She hailed Gopalaiah for conceptualising and realising an outdoor gymnasium for all at a public place.

Padmavathi said a similar gymnasium would be developed in Prakash Nagar and all important parks across the city. She said her target is to have at least one such open gymnasium in each ward.
