<p>Bengaluru: To raise traffic awareness among two-wheeler users, the Rotary Bangalore Midtown distributed 250 helmets on Sunday in collaboration with the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bengaluru-traffic">Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP). </a></p>.<p>The helmets were distributed to those who wore delicate, flimsy helmets which were easily breakable. </p>.<p>Palani Loganathan, president of Rotary Bangalore Midtown, said that the initiative was aimed towards empowering two-wheeler riders from lower-middle income communities who were not privileged enough to buy good quality helmets. </p>.Bengaluru Traffic Police crack down on drunk driving, speeding.<p>"As part of this initiative, we actually broke 250 helmets and gave them brand new ISI-marked helmets. The traffic police also advised them about the importance of wearing a helmet while riding,” he said. </p>.<p>He added that riders must protect themselves just the way they protect their mobile phones with screen guards. </p>
