Members of the Associated Managements of English Medium School in Karnataka (KAMS) met police officials here on Thursday to apprise the department on the implementation of safety guidelines issued for schools, a year ago.

Though the police have conducted background and antecedent checks on staffs of a number of schools, the Association claimed that they have not received any verification certificates for the same, from the police.

This, despite the schools paying as much as Rs 250 for each staff for the verification.
With parents taking law into their hands during any incident involving students in schools, the Association sought a law to protect schools and their staff.

They have also asked for a traffic police or warden to assist schools with more than 500 children at the beginning or the end of the school-day.
