<p>Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Dr Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, on Wednesday said there is a need to expand the capacity of Victoria Hospital.</p>.<p>The two leaders made a surprise visit to the hospital and inquired about patients’ needs and well-being. Siddaramaiah’s planned visit to Koppal was cancelled due to the rain.</p>.<p>"Organ donation costs around Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh outside, but here (Victoria Hospital), it is done free of cost. We will increase the number of beds in the organ donation department from 120 to 300,” Siddaramaiah said.</p>.Bengaluru: Aster DM Healthcare to invest Rs 580 crore on 500-bed hospital in Yeshwanthpur.<p>The ministers also visited Vani Vilas Hospital, the maternal and child care wing of Victoria Hospital. "Over 40 deliveries are conducted daily here, and people come from across the state. We will focus on expanding operations,” the Chief Minister said.</p>.<p>Siddaramaiah interacted with patients and instructed doctors to provide free and compassionate care. “Since the hospital is full and treatment is free, doctors are under pressure. I have asked them to treat patients with compassion,” he added.</p>.<p>The Chief Minister also addressed complaints of overcharging and allegations of money being collected for parking on the premises.</p>
