<p>Passengers boarding the Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Duronto Express trains will soon get a wake up SMS from the railways with information on their timings and platform numbers, Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda announced here on Sunday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The railway minister said the service will be extended to other trains at a later stage. <br />Gowda said the service will begin in the next 15 days and those who have given their mobile numbers will get the wake up messages.<br /><br />The proposal has been in the pipeline for more than a year, and will finally see light of the day with the Centre for Railway Information Systems now ready to execute the service. <br /><br />Soon, passengers could also get SMSes pertaining to any delay or cancellation of these trains as well.<br /><br />An app is also on the cards which will enable passengers to get real time updates about the trains. The app will be available on iOS, Android and Windows-based phones.</p>
