Take the silk route

Natural Art and Craft is organising the ‘Silk Of India Shopping Utsav’ at Meenakshi Mahal, Near Meenakshi Temple, Bannerghatta Main Road, till September 25. The exhibition is a unique world bringing together splendid crafts and weaves from across the country.

The exhibition offers a wide variety of handloom products such as ‘Chikan’, ‘Banarasi’ silk, ‘Bandhej’, ‘Kota’, ‘Daria’, ‘Bandhni’ and Kutch embroidery along with traditional ‘Chanderi’, ‘Maheswari’ and ‘Batik’ prints which are not available in shops in the city throughout the year. The exhibition offers a huge variety of items at reasonable prices.

If you want to change your decor for the upcoming festive season, then the exhibition lends ample opportunity to choose a wide range of decorative items such as Khurja pottery, Sharanpur rot iron furniture, Kashmiri silk carpets, Merino wool and silk carpets, tufted carpet from Uttar Pradesh and imitation jewellery.

You will also get bronze and brass idols not to talk of Dhakra brass craft from Madhya Pradesh, Madhubani paintings from Bihar and hand-carved wooden idols from Andhra Pradesh.

That apart, there is a wide collection of ladies’ purses and accessories to help one mix and match for various occasions.
