Terror-accused sent to seven-day judicial custody in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A special court in Bengaluru sent terror-accused Salman Rahman Khan, extradited by Rwanda to India on Thursday, to seven days of judicial custody, according to a highly placed source. 

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) produced Khan before the NIA special court on Thursday night amid tight security. P Prasanna Kumar, Special Public Prosecutor (SPP), argued for the NIA. 

On the prosecution's plea, the court remanded Khan in seven days of judicial custody. The NIA may ask for Khan's custody on Monday. 

Khan is accused of supplying consignments to carry out terror acts in Bengaluru. NIA charged him in the Bengaluru prison radicalisation case in January 2024. The case came to light after the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested five men for conspiring terror acts.
