Three held for stealing cheque

 The City police arrested three persons, Naveen (36), Venkatesh (34) and Rajkumar (30), for stealing a bank cheque and withdrawing cash using it. Rs 42,000 has been recovered from them.

National publishing company’s Head office had sent a cheque of Rs 10,000 to its employee Festan Azari on March 2, 2009 by a private courier service.It was allegedly stolen by Naveen in Frazer Town. The cheque entry was rewritten as Rs 2,10,000 instead of Rs 10,000 and the money was transferred to Naveen’s account in HDFC Bank of Sarjapur Road and withdrawn, police said.
